About

I help overseas buyers verify Chinese suppliers before they wire a deposit.

Most buyer losses in China sourcing do not come from clever fraud. They come from skipping one step: confirming who you are actually dealing with before you pay. A supplier uses a trading company name that does not match the factory. A certificate belongs to a different product. A bank account changes just before payment.

What I verify

  • Entity legitimacy — legal name, registration status, registered scope of business, legal representative
  • Factory vs. trading company — does the registered scope cover manufacturing, or only wholesale and import/export?
  • Manufacturing capability — whether the process is owned or subcontracted
  • Certification — validity, the issuing body's own database, and the check most services skip: whether the certified scope actually covers the product you are ordering
  • Payment consistency — whether the entity receiving your payment is the same entity named on the licence and the certificates
  • Public records — abnormal-operation listings, litigation, enforcement, where publicly available

My method

Five sources, cross-checked: public registration records, a live unedited video walkthrough of the production line, document verification against the issuing bodies, your own raw materials and correspondence, and a structured interview with the supplier covering capacity, QC process, non-conformance handling and lead time.

A single document proves very little. Every report states clearly what could be verified, what could not, and what remains uncertain.

Background

I am Jie Yi. I work on the China side of sourcing and have spent 12 years dealing with supplier documentation, certification and production quality in practice — not from a desk.

Independence

The rules I hold to

Verification is only worth as much as the independence behind it. These are not marketing statements — they are the reason you can use the report.

No commission

I accept no commission, rebate or referral fee from any supplier, factory or trading company. My only interest is an accurate report.

No products sold

I sell no products and represent no factories. I do not work for suppliers I might later be asked to verify.

Personal capacity

All engagements are taken in my own name. Reports are independent verification opinions on documents and records.

What I do not do

Being clear about the boundary matters more than listing capabilities, because a report used outside its scope is worse than no report.

  • I do not issue certificates. Certification decisions are made by accredited certification bodies. I provide verification and reporting only.
  • I do not provide management-system consulting or training. Verification and consulting in the same engagement is not independent.
  • I am not a legal or financial adviser. My reports are not legal opinions and are not a financial audit.
  • I do not perform social-compliance audits (BSCI, Sedex) or product performance and durability testing.
  • I do not guarantee an outcome. A REJECT verdict is a legitimate result and it is included in the price. You are paying for an accurate answer, not a reassuring one.
Working with me

Remote-first, evidence-first

  1. You send the basics The supplier's Chinese legal name, what you are ordering, and every document the supplier has shared so far.
  2. I confirm scope and price the same day What can be verified, what cannot, and what it costs — before you commit. If the scope does not fit your situation, I will say so.
  3. Evidence collection Registry checks, document verification against issuing bodies, and — where in scope — a live unedited walkthrough and a structured supplier interview.
  4. You receive a written report in English A clear verdict, the evidence behind each finding, a consolidated risk register, and the specific questions to put to your supplier next.

I am based in China (GMT+8) and work with buyers in the US, EU and UK. Deliverables are remote by default; in-person visits are available for certain regions subject to feasibility.

If you have a supplier in front of you and a deposit about to go out

Send me the details. I will tell you what I can confirm, and what you should ask before you pay.
